Autoimmunity: 

 Autoimmunity is the system of immune responses of an organism against its own healthy Cells, tissues & other body normal Constituent.. Any disease resulting from this type of immune response normal is termed as autoimmune disease.


Prominent Examples include: 

Celiac Disease

Past infectious IBS.

Diabetes mellitus type I.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Grave's disease.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Dermatomyositis (DM).

Multiple Sclerosis (MS)


Autoimmunity is the presence of antibodies (which are made by "B-lymphocytes & T-lymphocytes directed against normal components of a person (autoantigens).

These components are called autoantigens. self antigens & typically consists of proteins. The antibodies & T lymphocytes that recognize autoantigens are Called 'autoantibodies & 'autoantigens T-cells"
